What we collect
When you create an account we store your display name, email address, and a salted hash of your password (we never store passwords in plain text). When you use the service we store the content you create — flexes, votes, group memberships, and group chat messages — plus a session cookie that keeps you logged in and an anonymous browser identifier used only to enforce one vote per person. If you join the waitlist we store the email you provide.
How we use it
To run the product — show your content, count votes, rank flexes, deliver group chat — to keep you logged in, to send waitlist updates only if you signed up for them, and to prevent abuse (one vote per person).
Where it's stored
In a managed Postgres database (hosted via Neon on cloud infrastructure). TheFlex does not collect or store payment information and conducts no real-money transactions.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. Access is limited to infrastructure providers that host the service and, when enabled, the email provider that delivers confirmation messages — used only to operate the service.
Cookies
The session cookie (flexrank_session) and an anonymous vote-key cookie, plus browser storage for waitlist state. You can clear cookies in your browser; some features (like staying logged in) need them.
Your choices
Email theflex-bae7c9a8@ctomail.io to request access to or deletion of your account and personal data, or to opt out of emails. We will remove or anonymise identifiers on request; content you posted may remain visible to others as it was shared, but will no longer be tied to you.
Age
TheFlex is intended for users 13 and older.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and its effective date.
